Crime Report: Merrick Man Arrested for Criminal Impersonation

A look at recent crime in Merrick.

According to police in the Seventh Precinct, Kevin Fortune, 23, of Merrick, was arrested on Dec. 29 and charged with criminal impersonation in the second degree, as well as four violations of vehicular and traffic law. Fortune was arrested at the station house in Seaford.

Information in this crime report comes directly from the police. None of the people mentioned have been convicted of a crime.

The First Precinct, which covers the portion of Merrick and N. Merrick north of Sunrise Highway, did not report any crime during the last week. Despite repeated requests from Patch, the First Precinct does not release the names of anyone arrested.
