Crime Nearby: Deception Robberies, Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Bellmore
The following arrest information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department; it does not indicate a conviction.
Bellmore
- An unknown suspect(s) stole a jacket and a GPS from a complainant's unlocked 2002 Honda Accord and 2007 Chevy Suburban on Dec. 24.
- On Dec. 23, Denise Davino-Rosenthal, 41, of Bellmore was arrested on the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway near the Southern State in Seaford and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and three violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
- On Dec. 21, a woman left her pocketbook, wallet and contents in a shopping cart at Ace Hardware on Merrick Road. When she realized it was missing, she returned to the store and discovered it was stolen.
- A man was robbed at gunpoint in front of his home on Roger Road in North Bellmore on Dec. 18. The suspect stole $3 from the victim.
Merrick
- On Dec. 23, Daniel Distefano, 49, of Freeport, was arrested at Home Goods, 1644 Merrick Road in Merrick and charged with petit larceny.
- On Dec. 26, a house on Vassar Place was entered through the basement window. No loss was reported.
- On Dec. 27, it was reported that deception robberies that target senior citizens are becoming prevalent in the areas between Merrick and Massapequa. Read more here for details.
Seaford
- On Dec. 20, Joseph Larocca, 23, of Seaford was arrested on Hilaire Way in Seaford and charged with second-degree assault, petit larceny and resisting arrest.
- On Dec. 23, Denise Davino-Rosenthal, 41, of Bellmore was arrested on the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway near the Southern State Parkway in Seaford and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and three vehicle and traffic law violations.
- Eggs were discovered thrown on a man’s 2012 Honda Accord parked in his driveway on Jackson Avenue in Seaford on Dec. 24.
- The front window of a house on Harland Road in Seaford was reported broken with a brick on Dec. 24.
- A PVC fence on Southard Avenue in Seaford was reported damaged on Dec. 26.
Wantagh
- A home on Greentree Drive in Wantagh was burglarized on Dec. 21 but no items were removed. Police said the point of entry into the home was through a rear window.
- The den door of a home on Cypress Street in Wantagh was shot at it with a BB gun on Dec. 22. Police said the complainant heard glass shatter and a popping noise before realizing the suspect had shot at the home.
- On Dec. 24, Ricardo Cordova, 39, of Farmingdale was arrested on Brookside Avenue in Wantagh and charged with driving while intoxicated and four vehicle and traffic law violations.
