Attempted Robbery Leaves Teen with Injuries
The 18-year-old victim refused to give up his jeans to three male subjects.
An attempted robbery in North Merrick on Sunday has left a teen with a laceration above his right eye.
According to Nassau County Detectives, at approximately 2 p.m., the 18-year-old male victim observed a small white car pull to the curb on the opposite side of the Meadowbrook Road, near Bridge Street, while he was walking. Three white male subjects exited the vehicle, approached the victim and demanded his jeans.
After refusing the subjects demands, the victim was punched causing severe swelling and a laceration above his right eye, police said. He was able to escape his assailants and run home to contact the police.
The victim, who was unable to furnish any further descriptions of the subjects or the vehicle, sought medical attention on his own for his injuries.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.

Welcome to the Wild Wild West. This will not stop until the bridge to Roosevelt is dismantled.

This seems to have nothing to do with Roosevelt. Last I looked 3 white kids don't meet the typical criteria of someone from Roosevelt. Face it, North Merrick is becoming Baldwin before all your very eyes. Sad but true.

This type of assault was never a problem when jeans were just called "Dungarees" and sold for $3.95 at Bert Lou's on Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn.

What about an incident I heard about that happened within the past couple of months where a bunch of white kids from Bellmore jumped two white kids from Merrick near JFK HS. One of the boys from Merrick now needs extensive oral surgery on his mouth? What does color have to do with it (and I'm white but color blind in those matters)?
